Tornados (18s), Austin Juniors (17s) and Alamo (16s) control Tour of Texas

Feb. 1 – Texas Tornados defeated Team Texas 25-17, 25-12, 25-20 in the finals of the first stop on the Tour of Texas Sunday in San Marcos. The victory keeps the Tornados atop the standings in the 18s Division of the Tour.

The Tornados advanced to the finals with wins over North Dallas and Hit-Away. Team Texas advanced to the finals with wins over South Shore and Centex. The South Shore win was a costly one for Team Texas, however, when MB Brittany Randel was lost to a severe ankle injury. She'll have tests this week to determine how long she will be out.

In 17s action, Austin Juniors maintained its spot atop the Tour rankings with wins over Club Texas, Alamo and AIM Kaepa. AIM advanced to the finals with wins over Texas Tri County and Texas Tornados.

Alamo continued to dominate 16s play despite playing without a number of injured players. Alamo won its pool then knocked off Texas Tornados, which had won its pool, in a cross match.
