Alamo 15s Earn “Team of the Year” Honor

July 25 — Austin Juniors easily captured this year’s Texas “Club of the Year” honor presented by LoneStarVolleyball.com. The award is designed to recognize clubs for their success at all age levels in qualifying for the Junior Olympic Volleyball Championships and their performance on the national stage. Austin Juniors outdistanced Alamo, last year’s winner, and Texas Tornados in the race for Club of the Year honors.

Alamo 15sAlamo 15 Kaepa, which won the state’s first Open national championship, is LoneStarVolleyball’s "Team of the Year."

Standings are based on a formula in which teams are awarded 3 points for qualifying an Open team at the national championships, 1 point for sending a Club team and bonus points for medals or Top 8 finishes.

Austin Juniors sent four Open teams and three Club teams to Atlanta for a total of 17 points. Alamo (one Open, five Club and one national champion) finished with 12 points and the Tornados (three Open and one club) finished with 11 points.
