PICK THE STATE CHAMPS
Here's how we did with the playoffs. Now it's your chance to tell us who will win it all.
So how did we do with our regional predictions prior to the start of the playoffs? Not bad. In Class 5A, we correctly picked seven of the eight regional finalists. Our only miss was in Region II where we had predicted a Klein-Leander finals, although we did say that it would come down to Klein vs. the winner of the Cy Creek-Leander match. While we had the finalists, we weren't as good in picking the winners. Westlake over Churchill was the only one we got right while the other three teams we picked to lose in the championship matches - Klein, Stratford and Arlington Martin - will all be in San Marcos.
In 4A, we had six of the eight regional finalists and hit on three of the four state qualifiers. We also correctly picked three of the four state qualifiers in 3A and 2A. In 1A, though, it was a different story. We had only one of the Final Four qualifiers. OK, so we're not perfect.
Here's a look at how our panel of "experts" fared. Think you can do better?
