TEXAS SITES

The Texas Girls Coaches Association's newly redesigned site provides weekly rankings of the Top 10 teams in each classification during the high school season. Post-season coverage includes All-State teams for each classification and the Academic All-State team as well as players selected to compete in the annual senior all-star game.

University Interscholastic League

The University Interscholastic League is the governing body of all athletics in Texas. The site includes official information on district alignments, booster club guidelines, rules and other topics. It also includes a listing of past state champions. Especially helpful are the playoff brackets for each classification which are updated with results once the playoffs begin.

Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools

The Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools is the governing body of private school athletics in Texas. The site includes official information on district alignments, booster club guidelines, rules and other topics. It also includes a listing of past state champions. Especially helpful are the playoff brackets for each classification which are updated with results once the playoffs begin.

SPC SPORTS.ORG

The Southwest Preparatory Conference (SPC), often referred to as the Ivy League of college preparatory schools, consists of 18 college preparatory schools in Texas and Oklahoma. The site includes official information on district alignments, tournaments and other topics. It also includes a listing of state champions. These schools are accredited by the Independent Schools Association of the Southwest (ISAS) which established the SPC to provide organized sports for the schools' athletes.

No shortcuts

Want to check the district standings in district 2-1A or how the Ore City-New Diana race is shaping up in 15-2A? This is the place. "No Shortcuts!" is Wimberley head coach Lee Grisham's company that provides volleyball team camps in the smaller markets in Texas as well as coaching clinics for high school and club coaches. The company also offers a "Coaching Coaches to Coach" series for beginning or first year coaches on the basic fundamentals of volleyball. In addition to more details on these services, you'll find other interesting information and special events.

SASports.com provides complete coverage of high school sports in San Antonio including results of matches, district standings, school pages and player profiles.

NATIONAL SITES

This is the junior volleyball site run by John Tawa, the former managing editor of Student Sports, and Kevin Laseau, the former editor of vball.com. The subscription-only site (www.prepvolleyball.com) provides daily stories, photos, rankings, ratings, coaching tips and drills as well as coverage of the club and high school scene. And, of course, there are message boards. Pricing ranges from $20 to $40 annually depending on how many screen names you want.

For years, Rich Kern has operated one of the best sources of information on Division I volleyball and the best source for tracking Division I recruiting. At www.richkern.com you have a variety of search options. You can sort by player's name, school, home state or club team. Also find other interesting bits of information such as how various conferences fared against each other. This is strictly a Division I site, however, so don't expect to find information on D2, D3 or NAIA.
