October 31 — It wasn't easy, but top-ranked San Antonio Churchill swept Cy Creek in a playoff warm-up match at Columbus High School. In El Paso, Kelani Keoho (21 kills, 5 blocks) teamed with sisters Krystal and Emma Obi to lead Franklin over Eastwood 30-28, 25-21, 21-25, 25-18 in the finals of the District 1-5A Tournament. Eastwood had beaten Franklin three times earlier this season and it was Franklin's sixth straight district championship. Krystal had 13 kills, 20 blocks while Emma added 14 kills, 13 blocks.
